The 30th Division landed at Omaha Beach six days after D-Day and fought almost continuously until Germany surrendered. St. Lo, Operation COBRA, Mortain, Belgium & Meuse River battles, Aachen, Rimburg Castle, Battle of the Bulge, Malmedy & St. Vith, and the Rhineland to the Elbe. 3,003 KIA, 13,376 WIA, 513 Died of Wounds. The 30th Infantry Division was composed of National Guard units from Tennessee, North Carolina and South Carolina. It fought in France, Belgium and Germany and was considered one of the best divisions in the ETO.
