This is the exciting story of the "1st Cav" from initial tests as the 1st Air Assault at Fort Benning to deployment in Vietnam and its first two years of combat. Contains some of the best film of combat helicopter operations available.
 HELICOPTER OPERATIONS. The techniques and tactics of helicopters in search and destroy missions.
 ARMY AIR MOBILITY TEAM. Combat operations in the difficult terrain of Vietnam demanded new solutions to old problems. The answer came in the form of the helicopter airmobility concept, illustrated here with exciting footage of men and supplies responding instantly to battlefield conditions.

Some films were originally made to train replacement troops on what to expect in a combat situation and to build esprit de corps within the subject unit. A few segments may have slight color fading.
