F6F HELLCAT IN ACTION. The Grumman F6F Hellcat was considered the most important Allied aircraft in the Pacific during 1943 and 1944.
Grumman F6F-3 Hellcats were delivered to the Fleet in late 1942, with 4.402 by the end of production in 1944. Hellcats played vital roles in every subsequent naval air action. Rare, fantastic aviation photos in this volume make it a great book to own.
The Squadron "AIRCRAFT IN ACTION" series provides the aviation buff, historian and modeler alike with an in-depth developmental history of each subject aircraft. Each "AIRCRAFT IN ACTION" book contains outstanding photographic coverage of the aircraft in operational use. Many of the photos reveal details that other publications do not show. Line drawings give an in-depth look at each variant. The text explains each variant and puts the aircraft in historical perspective. Each 8.25" x 11" book has full color front and back covers, plus a framable 2-page spread of color paintings. Each book is soft covered and contains approximately 100 photos, numerous detail drawings, several pages of scale drawings, and 50-58 pages.
