JUTLAND: The German Perspective, by V.E. Tarrant (A Cassell Military Paperback)
The Battle of Jutland, 31 May and 1 June 1916, was to have been a set piece battle at a time and place of German choosing, intended to lure the British Grand Fleet into a lethal trap in German waters. Decisive victory was claimed by both sides, but, in reality, both suffered major losses. Naval historian V.E. Tarrant has researched the battle in exquisite detail, and he tells the story from the German perspective. The book is copiously illustrated with action charts, scale drawings and silhouettes of all major warships, and a complete log of all German fleet messages during the two days of battle. This book adds new understanding to what exactly happened at Jutland. Soft cover. 349 pages.
