The battle-sharp 82nd landed at Salerno, helped capture Naples and then returned to England to plan for the airborne landings behind enemy lines in France. Then these tough troopers fought as elite infantrymen in the Nijmegen phase of Dutch operations made famous in the movie "A Bridge Too Far" about the epic fight to the death.
